Based on observation and interview the facility is not providing the required smoke alarms and cooktop lookdown switch to prevent nucience alarms and resident use of the cooktop. This deficient practice could result in excessive fire alarm activations while cooking and possible injury to residents. The facility has a capacity of 25 and a census of zero.
Findings include:
During the survey on 9/14/17 the following is observed:
1. At 10:16 AM the open kitchen in the long term care portion of the hospital is not equipped with at least two AC-powered interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms.
2. At 10:19 AM the cooktop in the open kitchen in the long term care portion of the hospital is not equiped with a locked switch with a 120 minute timer to disconnect the power from the cooktop.
The CEO was present and ackowledged the findings.
