Based on record review and interview the facility failed to properly maintain the kitchen hood extinguishing system.
Findings Include:
At 10:00 a.m., on 02/02/10, while checking the records on the kitchen hood extinguishing system it was observed that the system was serviced 7/16/08 and 9/11/09 rather at 6 months interval. The safety officer was aware that the 6 months service was not preformed.
Actual NFPA standard states: Requires servicing at least every 6 months by properly trained and qualified person(s). 1998 NFPA 17, 9-3 and 1998 NFPA 17(a) 6-3
