Based on visual observation and record review the facility failed to assure that equipment is properly protected by the commercial hood/suppression system. The removal of grease laden vapors from the air is essential to decrease the risk of fire and maintain the air flow within the hood system. The deficient practice had the potential to affect 15 of 15 residents.
Findings:
During the facility tour on 9/23/22, between the hours of 8:30a-4:00p observation revealed new equipment installed under the kitchen hood not protected.
Interview with the Administrator revealed the facility was not aware the new equipment installed under the kitchen hood was not properly protected.

Based on visual observation the facility failed to provide smoke detection in areas open to the corridor that are connected to the fire alarm system. The detectors offer a means of activating the fire alarm system to provide emergency notification to the occupants of the building. This deficiency has the potential to affect 15 of 15 residents.
Findings:
During the facility tour on 9/23/22, between the hours of 8:30a-4:00p observation revealed no smoke detector in vending machine area open to the corridor.
Interview with the Administrator revealed the facility was not aware that smoke detectors are required in areas open to the corridor.
