Based on a review of 7 open and 3 closed medical records the hospital failed to provide 3 Medicare recipients with the standardized notice, "An Important Message from Medicare," (IM) as required to beneficiaries within the appropriate time frame.
Patient #1 and patient #2 received their initial IM on the third day of their admission. A review of patient #7's medical record revealed no evidence or documentation of a second IM given before discharge after a stay of 14 days.
