Based on observation and staff interview, the hospital failed to have required EMTALA signage posted in 4 of 4 emergency department treatment rooms reviewed.
Failure to post required signage risked violating patients ' rights to notification of available care and information.
Findings:
Tour of the Emergency department on 7/21/2016 at 8:40 a.m. revealed that signs specifying patient rights to receive care and information that the hospital participated in the Medicaid program were not posted in 4 of 4 treatment rooms reviewed.
EMTALA signage was present in the Emergency Department waiting area, but not in treatment rooms.
