Tours conducted at Christiana Hospital on 1/19 and 1/21/11 revealed the following:
1. Room 2369A - four unsecured oxygen bottles were found
This finding was confirmed by the Director of Public Safety and Mechanical Engineering Manager A at 9:25 AM on 1/19/11.
2. Room 2569 - two oxygen bottles were unsecured and laying on the floor
This finding was confirmed by the Director of Public Safety at 10:22 AM on 1/19/11.
3. Room 1950 - three unsecured oxygen bottles were found
This finding was confirmed by Mechanical Engineering Manager A at 2:05 PM on 1/21/11.

Based on observation and staff interview, it was determined that the hospital failed to ensure that electrical equipment was in accordance with NFPA 70, National Electric Code. Findings include:
Observation at 10:03 AM on 1/20/11, revealed that in room 2218 of MAP II, storage was found in front of the electrical panel. Also in room 1204, multiple appliances were plugged into one power strip.
These findings were confirmed by the hospital's Fire Protection Supervisor at the time of discovery.

4. Room 1236 - multiple appliances plugged into a power strip
This finding was confirmed by the hospital's Life Safety Officer on 1/25/11 at 2:20 PM.

This finding was confirmed by the hospital's Life Safety Officer at 9:20 AM on 1/20/11.
5. Room 1778 - has a power strip being used by multiple appliances
This finding was confirmed by Mechanical Engineering Manager A at 1:30 PM on 1/20/11.
6. Room L169 - has a power strip being used by multiple appliances

7. Kitchen storage area - storage was observed in front of the electrical panel
