Based on observation, record review, and staff interview the hospital failed to maintain appropriate temperature controls in pharmaceutical areas. This deficient practice could affect all patients, staff, and visitors in the areas referenced. Facility census 72.
Findings include
1. Record review on 07/17/24 at approximately 12:11 p.m. revealed the Medication Storage policy, which noted that the temperatures in the facility medication rooms should not exceed 76 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Observation on 07/17/24 at approximately 12:32 p.m., revealed the temperature in the 1 Central Medication Room was recorded at 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Observation on 07/17/24 at approximately 12:42 p.m., revealed the temperature in the 5 North Medication Room was recorded at 83 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Observation on 07/17/24 at approximately 12:45 p.m., revealed the temperature in the 5 South Medication Room was recorded at 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
5. Observation on 07/17/24 at approximately 12:49 p.m., revealed the temperature in the 4 South Medication Room was recorded at 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
6. Interview on 07/17/24 at approximately 12:50 p.m., with the Quality Assurance Analyst verified these findings. These findings were also acknowledged by the Chief Executive Officer at the exit interview on 07/17/24 at approximately 2:44 p.m.
