Based on observation and staff interview, the facility failed to provide positive latching hardware for the CT Room Door in 1 of 3 smoke compartments. This condition had the potential for super-heated gasses from a fire to push the room door open, which would allow the fire to spread into the exit corridor.
Findings are:
Observation during the facility tour on 5/29/12, at 11:11 am revealed the CT Room Door that separated the room from the exit corridor failed to have positive latching hardware installed in the room door.
In an interview conducted at the time of observation, (5/29/12, at 11:11 am), Maintenance A acknowledged that the door did not have latching hardware installed.
