This tag not met as observed by this surveyor and the facility maintenance manager. It was observed during review of the facility fire evacuation drill records that two drills had not been accomplished for the 1st and 2nd shift during the third quarter of this year (July, Aug, Sept). Fire drills are held at unexpected times under varying conditions, at least quarterly on each shift.

This tag not met as observed by this surveyor and the facility maintenance manager. It was observed that the PA sleeping room does not have a notification/detection device that will notify the occupant of an alarm. NFPA 101 and NFPA 72 requires that a detection/notification device be installed in the bedroom that is tied to the existing fire alarm system

The following additional deficiencies were found; 1) The Stonington Medical building, records not available for the last testing/inspection of the fire alarm system. System last tested/inspected in 2008. 2) The Castine Medical building had the following deficiencies; The exit on the east side of the building blocked by furniture and trash. The exit on the south side of the building partially blocked by furniture. The facility sprinkler system is not being inspected/tested as required. The last inspection/testing was done in January of 2007. The Sprinkler system is required its five year internal inspection. Records not available for fire alarm system inspection/testing.
