Bringing transparency to federal inspections

Based on review of tuberculosis skin test results and interview, it was determined the facility failed to implement a system to identify potential tuberculosis exposure among contracted patient food service employees. The failed practice had the potential to affect all patients receiving meals from the patient food service. Evidence follows:
A. Food service employee tuberculosis skin testing results were requested at the beginning of the survey. By the third day, only eight of over 200 employee skin test results were produced. All eight were tested on the first day of the survey.
B. Interview with the Interim Regulatory Officer at 1545 on 11/18/09 confirmed the facility lacked evidence of tuberculosis skin test results for the contracted food service employees.
