Based on review of Swing Bed Activity Participation Records, policy and procedure review, and staff interview, the facility failed to provide an ongoing program of activities for seven (7) of seven (7) swing bed patients, Patients #11, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16, and #17.
Findings Include:
Review of Activity Participation Records revealed no documented evidence of activities being provided on 22 of 52 days (from 5/22/16 to 7/05/16) for Patients #11, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16, and #17.
Interview with the Activity Director on 07/05/16 at 1:30 p.m. revealed there was no available activity calendar and she did not routinely provide a calendar with patient activities listed.
An interview with the Chief Executive Officer on 07/05/16 at 2:05 p.m. revealed there were no policies and procedures specific to swing bed patients.
