Based on interviews and observation, the facility failed to properly maintain exit egress as per NPFA 101 section 7.2.1.4.3.
Findings include:
On July 8, 2016 at 12:15 PM, observation revealed the required exit door near the Emergency Department Admissions Office swung inward and away from the direction of egress travel. This required exit door Emergency Department Admissions Office also was not properly labeled as an exit.
The maintenance supervisor agreed with this assessment in the exit conference on the day of survey.
NFPA 101 section 7.2.1.4.3
A door shall swing in the direction of egress travel where used in an exit enclosure or where serving a high hazard contents area, unless it is a door from an individual living unit that opens directly into an exit enclosure.
