Based on observation, document review and interview it was determined that the facility failed to ensure compliance with 42 CFR 489.24 and the related provisions at 42 CFR 489.20 and 42 CFR 489.24. Please reference findings under Tag 2402.
POSTING OF SIGNS

Based on observation and interview, signage specifying the rights of individuals under section 1867 of the ACT is not posted in the facility's Emergency Department.
Findings include:
Tours of the Emergency Department including the waiting room, ambulance bay, triage and other patient care areas were conducted on 3/04/13 at 11:15 AM and on 3/05/13 at 9:00 AM. The tours revealed that there was no signage posted specifying the rights of individuals under 1867 of the ACT with respect to examination and treatment of emergency medical conditions and women in labor and the facility's participation in the Medicaid program.
This finding was verified with Staff #2 on 3/04/13 at 11:15am and again on 3/05/13 at 9:00am with Staff #1 and 2.
