Based on observation and staff interview the facility failed to assure that sprinkler heads have 18 inches of clearance. This deficient practice can cause an obstruction to the spray pattern of the sprinkler. This will affect 1 out of 5 smoke zones. This facility has a capacity of 20 beds with a census of 8 residents at the time of the survey.
FINDINGS INCLUDE:
During the tour on 3/22/10 from 12:30 to 2:30 P.M. it was found that a sprinkler head located in the janitor closet has a shelf unit within 10 inches of the sprinkler head.
Staff M and N were present and aware of the finding.
