Based on observation and interviews, this hospital failed to ensure that they were in compliance with all EMTALA requirements under 42 CFR 489. The facility failed to post EMTALA signs in all patient areas where patients may be waiting for emergency treatment in 1 of 1 observations. Failure to maintain compliance with EMTALA requirements has the potential to affect all patients receiving care in this facility's emergency department.
Findings include:
Per observations during tour of the Emergency Department on 2/29/2016 at 2:15 PM, there are not EMTALA signs in the treatment rooms, the triage room or waiting room. (See A2402)

Based on observation and interview the facility failed to ensure EMTALA signs are posted in all areas patients may be waiting for emergency treatment, in 1 of 1 observations. This deficiency potentially affects all Emergency Department patients treated at the facility during the survey.

Per observations during tour of the Emergency Department on 2/29/2016 at 2:15 PM, there are not EMTALA signs in the treatment rooms, the triage room or waiting room. Per interview with Chief Clinical Officer on 2/29/2016 at the time of the observation, it was confirmed that there are no EMTALA signs in the treatment rooms, triage room or waiting room.
