Based on observation and staff interviews, it was determined that the facility failed to provide ½ hour fire rated protection in the exit corridors.
Findings were:
On 10-27-2010 at 11:30 a.m., during a tour of the facility, observation revealed that all facility corridors and fire barriers have unprotected penetrations. These were caused by improper sealing of electrical wiring penetrations, and sheetrock construction failing to extend to structure.
This violation exists in all 9 smoke compartments and in all corridors and fire separations. On 10-27-2010 staff interviews revealed that staff M1 was aware of the violations from a previous Joint Commission inspection and advised this inspector that a future construction project was planned to fix the corridors.
There were too many penetrations to list all in this report, but the condition was throughout the entire facility.
