Based on record review and interview, the hospital failed to ensure the Emergency Department (ED) direct care staff received the education, training and demonstrated knowledge in the use of non-physical intervention skills for 2 (S6RN, S7LPN) of 6 (S6RN, S7LPN, S8PSO, S9PS, S10PS, S11PS) Emergency Department employee personnel files reviewed for documentation of training.
Findings:
Review of S6RN's personnel file revealed no documentation of training for non-physical intervention skills.
Review of S7LPN's personnel file revealed no documentation of training for non-physical intervention skills.
In an interview on 10/17/2023 at 4:00 p.m., S3AVP verified S6RN and S7LPN had no documentation of training for non-physical intervention skills in their personnel files.
