Based on record review and interview, the facility failed to conduct the required number of fire drills.

Findings include:

At 10:30 a.m., on 11-10-11, record review revealed that only one (1) fire drill was conducted on the 11-7 shift in the past twelve months and one (1) drill on the 3-11 shift. Interview with the maintenance person revealed that conducting fire drills was assigned to other staff and not available during the Life Safety Code survey.

Based on record review and interview, the facility failed to inspect and maintain the kitchen hood extinguishing system as required.

Findings include:

At 11:00 a.m., on 11-10-11, it was observed that the last recorded kitchen hood extinguishing system inspection was conducted in May of 2009.

Actual NFPA standard: Requires inspection and servicing at least every six months by properly trained and qualified persons. 1998 NFPA 17, 9-3
