Based on observation, interview, document review, and policy review the hospital failed to ensure an active hospital-wide COVID-19 screening program for the surveillance, prevention and control of infectious diseases to include COVID-19 for all staff, vendors and visitors and failed to ensure staff cleaned medical equipment before and after patient use.
The cumulative effect of the facility's failure to ensure an active hospital-wide program for the surveillance, prevention and control of infectious diseases to include COVID-19 and clean equipment before and after patient use places all patients, staff, vendors and visitors at risk for acquiring COVID-19 infections.
Findings Include:
The hospital failed to ensure COVID-19 screening for all staff, vendors and visitors and failed to clean medical equipment before and after use. (Refer to A0749).
