Based on visual observation the facility failed to provide a remote annunciator panel that is storage battery powered and is located in a location that is readily observed by operating personnel. The annunciator is to be hard-wired to indicate alarm conditions of the emergency power source.
Findings:
During facility tour and testing of the emergency power source between the hours of 1:30 and 2:30 it was observed that there is not a remotely located annunicator panel for the generator in order for conditions of the EPS to be monitored at all times.
Interview with Maintenance Supervisor revealed that the facility was not aware that the generator was required to have a remotely located annunicator panel in accordance with NFPA 99 in order to monitor the system for alarm conditions.
