Based on observation and interview, the facility failed to maintain the fire sprinkler system. The deficient practice has the potential to prevent the fire sprinkler system from proper activation in the case of a fire. This deficient practice would affect approximately 6 occupants in the Administration Suite. This facility has a capacity of 18 and census of 2 patients at the time of the survey.

Findings are:

On 6/18/2019 at 2:50 P.M., observations revealed that the facility failed to provide the required 18 inch clearance to obstructions from the fire sprinkler deflector in the Administration closet. The items are stored on the shelf are within the required 18 inches of the fire sprinkler deflector.

During interview conducted on 6/18/2019 at 2:50 P.M., Maintenance personnel stated that they were unaware of the items stored within the required clearance to the sprinkler head.
