Based on visual observations and interview with facility engineer the facility failed to maintain a fire barrier of at least two-hour between nonconforming building. The deficient practice had the potential to affect 9 floors where the medical office building connect.

Findings:

During the facility tour on 12/1-15/2010, between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, it was observed that there was no fire barrrie separation between the medical office building and hospital the medical office building is a non conforming building that dose not meet healthcare requirements for life safety code. The Life Safety Code 2000 existing, Which this facility is inspected under require a two-hour fire barrier separate the two.

Findings:

During the facility tour on 2/1-15/2010, between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, it was observed that barrier doors on 3rd floor labor and delivery and 2nd floor NICU barrier doors did not have latching hardware on them,which these doors unable of self-closing and latching in their frames.
