The inspector observed, while accompanied by the Director Facilities Management, Director Environmental Services, Safety Manager HVAC Mechanical Supervisor, Environmental Safety Specialist, Construction/Paint Supervisor, and Facilities Engineer, during the hours of the inspection from 10:00AM to 3:00 PM on 06/17/2015 that there were the following issues:
A) Based on observation of the CS Storage Room (RM 2045) on the 20th floor of the hospital main tower (St. Luke ' s, not Cooley Building), the storage shelf extended into the 18 inch plane below the sprinkler headshields which could serve as a potential reservoir for future storage. Please Note that this issue was corrected and verified by the inspector prior to the exit conference held on 06/19/2015.
" A minimum clearance of 18 inches shall be maintained between the top of storage and sprinkler deflectors " - NFPA 13, 2002: 8.5.6.1.
