Based upon a review of records and staff interview, the facility fails to assure that the fire alarm is continuously maintained in accordance with NFPA 70. The deficient practice could result in insufficient warning of a fire or other emergency for occupants of the building, affecting 4 of 4 smoke zones. The facility has a capacity of 17 with a census of 2 at the time of the survey.
FINDINGS INCLUDE:
During the records review portion of the survey conducted on 09/23/2010, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the most recent annual report of fire alarm system testing and maintenance dated 09/21/2010, revealed that 3 audio visual devices failed when tested.
Staff A and B were present and acknowledged the results of the record review. Staff B stated that arrangements have been made with the service vendor to complete required repairs within the next week.
