An anonymous EMTALA complaint (# TN00051811) was opened with an unannounced investigation on 8/25/2020 at 8:15 AM. An entrance conference was held with the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Quality Improvement/Risk Management.
After interviews with Corporate and Executive staff, it was also determined the EMS was not owned or operated by the hospital and had not presented on the hospital premises per the ED physician's orders; therefore EMTALA could not be applied to this complaint., and EMTALA violations were not substantiated.
