Based on a tour of the hospital it was observed that lounges and waiting areas which are open to the exit access corridor and which are not located so as to be constantly supervised from a staff location, were not provided with approved automatic smoke detectors, interconnected with the building free alarm system. The hospital does have a plan in place to address this item.
