Based on record review and interview, the facility failed to ensure fire drills were conducted in accordance with LSC Section 18.7.1.2. This deficient practice could potentially affect all occupants of the facility if staff are not properly trained in approved emergency procedures.
Findings Include:
On 5/17/16 between 1000 and 1030 during record review the facility fire drill reports revealed the facility did not conduct a fire drill for the 3rd quarter, 2nd shift of 2015. Additionally, review of the facility fire drill reports revealed the drills conducted for 2nd shift in the 2nd and 4th quarters of 2015 were not varied enough in time and conditions as required by 18.7.1.2.
On 5/17/16 at approximately 1030 interview with the Director of Support Services verified that a drill was not conducted for the 3rd quarter, 2nd shift 2015, and the drills for 2nd shift in the 2nd and 4th quarters of 2015 were not varied enough as required. The Director of Support Services stated drills will be set by maintenance supervisor and reviewed at the quarterly safety meetings by the safety committee.
