Based on an interview with staff, the facility has failed to ensure that 2 of 5 exit paths are illuminated by emergency lighting in accordance with NFPA LSC (00) Section 7.8 and 18.2.9.1. This deficient practice could affect all residents, staff and visitors in the event of an emergency evacuation during a power outage.
Findings include:
On facility tour between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on 09/23/2015, observations revealed that the north and south employee exits were not provided with emergency lighting when the power was terminated during the facility tour.
This deficient practice was verified by the Facility Administrator (JW).
