Based on observations and interview, the hospital failed to provide seating arrangements within the hospital's Group Therapy Rooms on Unit 300 and Unit 400 to allow social distancing for patients and staff as a measure to reduce the potential cross transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
The findings are:
On 12/08/2020 from 10:10 AM to 10:50 AM, a tour of Unit 300 was conducted with the Director of Facilities Management (DOFM). Observation of the Group Therapy Room revealed seventeen individuals in the Group Therapy Room. The chairs were lined by the wall, side-by-side with additional rows of chairs in the room. The chairs were not spaced six feet apart to allow for social distancing. The finding was verified by Registered Nurse 2 and the DOFM at 10:19 AM on 12/08/2020.
On 12/8/2020 from 10:52 AM to 11:10 AM, a tour of Unit 400 was conducted with the DOFM. Observations of the Group Therapy Room revealed sixteen individuals in the Group Therapy Room. The chairs were lined by the wall and side-by-side. The chairs were not spaced six feet apart to allow for social distancing. The finding was verified by the DOFM at 11:00 AM on 12/8/2020.
