Based on observation and interview the facility failed to assure that the NFPA 70 electrical code is met. This deficient practice may cause electrical shock. This will affect 1 out of 7 smoke zones in the building. This facility has a capacity of 17 with a census of 16 residents on the LTCU and 25 with a census of 16 residents in the hospital at the time of the survey.
Findings include:
During the tour on 10/11/11 from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM it was found that the LTCU mechanical room has an electrical panel missing a breaker/blank.
Staff M was present and acknowledged the finding.
9.1.2 Electric. Electrical wiring and equipment shall be in accordance with NFPA 70, National Electrical Code, unless existinginstallations, which shall be permitted to be continued in service, subject to approval by the authority having jurisdiction.
