Based on staff interview and observation the North Shore Medical Center and Florida Medical Center, a campus of North Shore Medical Center failed to comply with Life Safety Code (2000) edition 7.3.4, 19.2.3.5. Storage in the corridors limiting exit access. This deficiency could affect all occupants of the facility in case of a fire or other emergency.
Findings:
During a tour of the facility at North Shore Medical Center on 05/20/15 at 2:25 PM with the Director of Support Services it was observed that on the 3rd floor by Room 363 the corridor had beds stored limiting exit access.
During a tour of the facility at North Shore Medical Center on 05/20/15 at 2:28 PM with the Director of Support Services it was acknowledged that on the 3rd floor by Room 363 the corridor had beds stored limiting exit access.
During a tour of the facility at Florida Medical Center on 05/21/15 at 2:10 PM with the Director of Plant Operations it was observed that on the 2nd floor West near Room 231 A the corridor had housekeeping carts stored limiting exit access.

Findings:
During a tour of the facility at North Shore Medical Center on 05/20/15 at 2:30 PM with the Director of Support Services it was observed that on the 3rd floor staff lounge a surge protector was connected to a microwave.

During a tour of the facility at North Shore Medical Center on 05/20/15 at 2:45 PM with the Director of Support Services it was observed that on the 3rd floor in the medication room a surge protector was connected and piggybacked to the medication refrigerator.
