Based on review of records the facility failed to provide ensure fire drills were held at unexpected times in accordance with the LSC section 18.7.1.2. This deficient practice could potentially affect all occupants of the facility in the event of staff not being properly trained during fire drills.
Findings include:
On 8/14/12 between 10:20am and 11:40am during records review, the facility fire drill documentation showed that drill times were not varied throughout the shift. Two first shift drills occurred during the same hour in the past year, two of the second shift drills occurred during the same hour in the past year, and three of the third shift drills occurred during the same hour in the past year. This condition was noted with the Maintenance Supervisor present.
