Based on record review and interview, the CAH failed to ensure the ED staff were licensed, certified, or registered in in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. This deficient practice was evidenced by the CAH failing to ensure all the ED staff were certified in TNCC and a Crisis Intervention program.
Findings:
Review of the CAH's position description - ED Registered Nurse revealed in part: Licensure/Certification Requirements- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required.
In an interview on 02/23/2022 at 10:20 a.m., S2RN Manager stated 2 of 14 ED nurses have TNCC certification and 2 of 14 ED nurses have Crisis Intervention certification.
