Based on observation and interview, the facility failed to conspicuously post signage specifying the rights of individuals with emergency medical conditions, including women in labor, in the Emergency Department (ED). Findings include:

Upon entrance to the ED patient reception area and waiting room, on 2/22/12 at approximately 0900, no signage was noted regarding patients rights with emergency medical conditions. During observational tour of the three (3) bay triage areas and 31 bay emergency room areas, at approximately 0930, no signage was noted regarding the rights of patients with emergency medical conditions. Interview with the Director of ED and the Nursing Supervisor #B, at approximately 1000, verified that they did not have the proper signage posted.
