VIOLATION: MAINTENANCE OF PHYSICAL PLANT | Tag No: A0701 | |
Based on a tour of the facility and review of facility documents and staff interviews (EMP), it was determined that the facility failed to maintain a sanitary environment. Findings include: Review of facility policy and procedure "Patient Room Daily Cleaning" dated December 12, 2014, revealed "Patient Room Cleaning Steps - Weekly high/low dust work in a counter-clockwise direction around the room using a microfiber high duster high dust surfaces above shoulder height, including the tops of lights, doors, curtain tops, partitions, ventilation covers, etc. Low dust surfaces below waist height, including radiators and air conditioning unit etc." Review of facility policy and procedure "Patient Room Discharge/Transfer Cleaning" dated December 1, 2014, revealed "High dusting: shoulder height and above. Begin high dusting at the door, working counter-clockwise, dusting items such as door tops, pictures, over-bed lights, and TV's above shoulder height as well as vents and tops of curtains." 1) Tours of the facility on March 27, 2017, at 10:30 AM revealed the following environmental observations: A tour of E9 Unit revealed dust above the picture in room 905, the picture and overhead light in room 903, the chair rail and picture in room 933, the closet trim and overhead light in 932, and the overhead light and suction apparatus in room 930. A tour on unit E8 revealed dust in room 807 on top of the cork board, 804 on top of both over head lights, and room 803 above the overhead light. During the tour EMP1, EMP2, and EMP4, confirmed the above findings. |
