Based on documentation review, observation and staff interview it was determined this facility failed to meet the requirements for sprinkler coverage for the construction type according to the National Fire Protection Association, Chapter 19.1.6.2. The facility census was 10 at the time of the re-survey.
Findings include:
Tour of building 1 took place on 11/02/10 to 11/03/10 with staff C from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Interview with staff A and B took place on 11/02/10 at 10:30 AM and revealed this facility is waiting on a response from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regional office regarding their determination of construction type and requirement for a suppression system. As of 11/03/10 no measure of work has begun on a suppression system.
