Based on observations, the facility failed to provide clear and unobstructed means of egress as directed in NFPA 101 chapter 7.1.10.1. This deficiency had the potential to affect 4 of the 11 residents and various staff.
Findings include:
On August 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., the maintenance person and the surveyor found that 1 of the 3 required exits were partially blocked with beds and a lift. This deficient practice has the potential of affecting 1 of 4 smoke compartments. The administrator and maintenance director were notified during the survey and in the exit conference.
