Based on visual observation the facility failed to provide sensitivity testing on the building smoke detectors, that are connected to the fire alarm system. The detectors provide a means of activating the fire alarm system to provide emergency notification to the occupants of the building. The deficient practice has the potential to affect 19 of 19 residents.
Findings:
During the facility tour, and records review on 6/10/2010 at 10:30 A.M. observed the facility failed to provide documentation of a current smoke detector sensitivity test. No other documentation was available for review.

Based on visual observation and record review, the facility failed to assure that the monthly specific gravity testing for the emergency generator battery test results was documented. In cases of a power outage the emergency generator powers essential life safety equipment for the facility. The deficient practice had the potential to affect 19 of 19 residents.
Findings:
During the record review, on 6/10/2010 at 10:30 A.M. observed that the facility is not documenting specific gravity testing for the emergency generator battery. No other documentation was available for review.
