Based on observation and interview, the infection control officer failed to ensure the hospital's system for identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases of patients and personnel was implemented. This deficient practice was evidenced by the hospital failing to maintain a sanitary environment.
Findings:
Observations were conducted in the hospital on 01/28/2025 between 1:00 PM and 2:17 PM, accompanied by SF2DON, SF3QC, and SF4CCO and on 01/29/2025 between 2:57 PM and 3:20 PM, accompanied by SF2DON. Observations revealed there were dead bugs located in 17 of 24 light fixtures located in the hallways of the unit.
In interview during the observations, SF2DON verified the above stated findings.
