GOVERNING BODY

Tag No.: A0043

Based on record review, observation and interview, it was confirmed that the Governing Body failed to ensure that the hospital was offering appropriate in patient services [see A9999].

There were no in patients on the date of the survey. The facility has been open continuously but has, by design, stopped providing in patient services for at least the past 12 months.

Interview with the Hospital Director and Nurse Manager, on 10/12/10 at approximately 1100, revealed that the hospital has not had any in patients for over a year and only has Emergency Services [and related support services] available for patients. They observed that the last admission was approximately three years ago. The Hospital Director stated that facility chose to cease providing in patient services.

A review of the organization chart was performed at approximately 1115 and revealed that the facility has a designated CEO, Chief Nursing Executive and Medical staff. The Governing Body minutes revealed that the Board meets regularly and has kept meeting minutes. The Medical Staff roster was reviewed and revealed active staff members. The minutes do not contain any discussion related to in patient services.
