Based on Record Reviews and Interviews the Hospital failed to create policies and procedures to protect patients from all forms of abuse, neglect and harassment.

The Surveyor interviewed the Quality Assurance Manager on 4/24/19 at 12:15 P.M. The Quality Assurance Manager said that the Hospital does not have a policy or procedure to aid in the prevention of abuse and neglect. The Quality Assurance Manager said that they do check the Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) for all new hires and volunteers who work with the patient population. The Quality Assurance Manager said that although they do educate staff members at orientation, once hired, on indicators of abuse and neglect, they do not have a protocol to check employees for a history of abuse or neglect in a healthcare setting prior to hiring and starting their respective positions.
