Based on observation the facility failed to provide smoke dampers in accordance with the LSC section 8.3.5. This deficient practice could potentially affect all occupants of the facility since failure to provide required smoke dampers could permit smoke and/or other products of combustion to spread from one smoke barrier zone to another.
Findings include:
On 03/31/09 between approximately 10:30 AM and 11:50 AM, the following observations were made:
The facility is not fully protected by the automatic sprinkler system, and none of the smoke barrier walls were provided with approved smoke dampers in the duct penetrations.
06/30/09 Update: This tag remains uncorrected.
11/03/09 Update: Approval of expenditure to become compliant has been approved. Certified firm contracted to complete work. Certified firm currently in the process of submitting plans for review.
02/02/10 Update: Installation of automatic sprinkler system is approximately 75% complete and is expected to be completed by February 22, 2010.
