Based on interview and facility documentation, the facility failed to ensure residents were free from abuse when it did not protect all residents from potential abuse during investigation of an allegation of abuse and did not follow its abuse protection program according the the facility policy. Findings include:

The facility received a complaint from Resident #1's family on the evening of June 21, 2010, alleging that Employee (F)/nurse sexually abused Resident #1. During an interview with Employee (B)/nursing administration on June 28, 2010, at 12:35 p.m., Employee (B) stated that Employee (F) was removed from providing care to Resident #1 following the complaint the evening of June 21, 2010. He was placed on another unit in the hospital for the rest of his shift prior to completion of an internal investigation. Employee (F)'s job duties included direct patient cares. There was no additional supervision.
