MAINTENANCE OF PHYSICAL PLANT

Based on observations and staff interview, the facility did not maintain the physical plant of the hospital as required for the safety and well being of the patients.

The findings were:

On the morning of 9/19/2011, observation within room 314 and room 322 revealed that the handwash sinks were loose and not fully attached to the wall. Specifically the sheetrock and spackle surrounding the sinks were cracked, and with a little pressure the surveyor could move each of the sinks.

Concurrent staff interview with the Director of Engineering confirmed these findings.

Based on observation and staff interview, the facility did protect the medical gas storage area in accordance with NFPA 99, Standard for Health Care Facilities.
