Based on observation and interview, the facility failed to assure the means of egress is continuously maintained free of obstructions with no storage of equipment in the corridor.
The findings include:
Observation on October 4, 2010, at 7:30 a.m., revealed six items of equipment, including chairs, lift, and scales in the corridor between the green elevator area and the rehab room. Interview with the rehab department staff and the charge nurse on October 4, 2010, at 8:00 a.m., revealed the equipment had been used for providing patient care on the previous evening of October 3, 2010.
