Based on observation and a tour of the facility, all drugs and biologicals were not kept in a secure area and locked when appropriate.
Findings were:
During a tour of the patient care unit on 1-19-11, the door to one of one medication room was found unlocked.
During a tour of the patient care unit on 1-19-11, one of one medication refrigerator (inside the unlocked medication room) was found unlocked.
During a tour of the patient care unit on 1-19-11, three of three drawers (inside the unlocked medication room) containing patient medication were found unsecured.
The above was confirmed in an interview with the Chief Nursing Officer and the Director of Nursing on the afternoon of 1-19-11 in the office of the Director of Nursing.
