Based on medical record review and interview, the facility failed to ensure bathing was performed in a manner to meet the needs of patients for 1 of 3 (Patient #2) sampled patients.

The findings included:

1. Medical record review revealed Patient #2 was admitted to the facility on 1/11/17 with diagnoses of Pleural Effusion and Acute Respiratory Failure. The patient was discharged on 1/20/17. The only documentation that bathing occured was on 1/12/17 and 1/20/17.

During an interview with the Risk Manager (RM) on 2/23/17 at 10:30 AM in the RM's office, the RM verified that the expectation for bathing was at least every other day, unless the patient refused. There was no documentation in the medical record that the patient refused bathing.
